About this part
Two ways to run it. A wired handset for when you want to stand at the machine, and a wireless fob for when you want to stand clear. Rated pull is 2500 lb and the line is steel cable on 12 volts.
Standing clear is the point of the fob. A loaded cable under tension is the most dangerous thing in a recovery. Rig a damper over it, then move out of the line before anyone touches a switch.
The waterproof claim in the title is not tied to an IP number. Treat the winch as splash resistant and not as something to submerge.
